The situation in Afghanistan

US Army: Do not rule out cooperation with the Taliban against ISIS

US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley (Mark Milley) stated on September 1 that the United States does not rule out cooperation with the Taliban against ISIS, but did not elaborate. He mentioned that after the U.S. military withdrew from Afghanistan, he felt pain and anger like many people in the military, and felt complicated.

When Milli attended the press conference, he was asked if the Pentagon might coordinate with the Taliban to combat ISIS in the future. He responded: "It is possible." He said, "We don't know what the Taliban will be like in the future, but based on personal experience, I can say, The organization was cruel and ruthless before, but whether it will change, we need to observe. As for our activities with them, you need to do what you should do during the war, not what you want to do."

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said that the United States had very small interactions with the Taliban on the issue of troop withdrawal. He emphasized that at present, there is no attempt to "predict" the development of the situation and the possibility of interaction between the United States and the Taliban, but emphasized that the Pentagon will focus on combating ISIS.

Millie said that he felt pain and anger like his grieving relatives and soldiers on the front line. He pointed out that no matter what he, the Secretary of Defense, the President, or anyone said, he will not bring people back to life. Speaking of the explosion outside the Kabul Airport that led to the death of the US military, he described it as a difficult thing, "war is very difficult, very evil, very cruel, and very ruthless."
